Welcome to The Foundations of Quantum Theory Group at the Universtity of South Carolina. Our group has
been at the forefront in addressing some the most fundamental questions in quantum mechanics. Topics for which the group has gained worldwide recognition include non-locality
aspects such as the Aharonov-Bohm effect, geometric and topological aspects such as the Aharonov-Anandan phase, and new approaches to quantum measurement such as protective and weak
measurements. These efforts have lead to directly testable new predictions
and applications in diverse fields such as chemistry, condensed matter physics, elementary particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology.

Currently, the group is composed of three faculty members, one post-doctoral fellow, and one graduate student. The group
also hosts an annual Summer Institute on the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics, which involves a small number of well-known figures in the field as well as local faculty and graduate students.
