May 2, Monday 2 PM Sumwalt 120A ============ Vladimir Golub Institute of Magnetism, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Applications of ferromagnetic resonance In spite of a big progress in modernization of conventional magnetic measurements techniques such as VSM and SQUID magnetometries FMR is widely used for characterization and investigation of different magnetic materials. This is connected with the following advantages of FMR technique: 1. High sensitivity of this technique even in comparison with modern SQUID magnetometers. 2. The possibility to separate contribution from different magnetic phases and magnetic structure units (different magnetic layers, granules, etc.) 3. No influence of diamagnetic subsystems (such as substrates of films, diamagnetic matrix, etc.) and possibility to separate a contribution from paramagnetic ones. 4. The possibility to obtain data about exchange interaction inside magnetic materials or between magnetic components of magnetic materials. 5. FMR measurement is one of the easiest way to determine a saturation magnetization of magnetic samples of nonspherical shape (especially for thin films). 6. The power of FMR technique for magnetic anisotropy and magnetostatic interaction investigation. 7. Spin wave study of the magnetic samples. To demonstrate the possibility of FMR technique some resent results obtained in the Institute of Magnetism on different magnetic materials (perofskite and Heisler alloys thin films, granular films and multilayers, ensembles of magnetic nanodots, etc.) will be shown in this presentation.
