Research Activities and Interests
My research interests include several topics: Extragalactic Astronomy and Cosmology-- Intergalactic and interstellar matter-- Galaxy Evolution-- Quasar Absorption Systems-- Cosmic Evolution of Chemical Elements--Polar Ring Galaxies-- Dust in Galaxies. We use primarily optical, infrared and ultraviolet astronomical instruments on many state-of-the-art telescopes on ground and in space. These include the Keck and Gemini telescopes in Hawaii, the Very Large Telescope and Magellan telescope in Chile, the Apache Point Observatory in New Mexico, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Spitzer Space Telescope, the Herschel Space Observatory, etc.
