Frontiers and Careers in Photonuclear Physics

August 7-9, Cambridge MA

A student-postdoc seminar will be held on Thursday to Saturday August 7-9 2014 at MIT, Cambridge, MA. The seminar aims to bring together nuclear and particle physics PhD students and post-docs to discuss research and career perspectives in a friendly environment. A welcoming reception will take place on August 7th, were participants can pick up their seminar packet. The meeting will take place immediately before the August 10-15 Gordon Research Conference on photonuclear physics, and attendance to the Gordon conference is highly recommended.

The participants will be given the chance to present their research during oral presentation sessions. There will also be panel discussions with leading experts, focusing on how to effectively build out a career in the field. The meeting will introduce young researches to some of their peers from different parts of the world and provide them with information, opportunities, and guidance on prospective career paths.
